Or should that be ONLY 7 weeks to go before I cycle solo from John O'Groats to Lands End.....after a very wet and dreary winter it’s time to get some serious training in. Jan Feb and March were a disaster and with only 7 weeks to go it’s catch up time!
Now the early mornings are brighter, it's up early for 15 – 20 miles and a few more miles in the evenings. Weekends consist of longer stints 60 -70 miles. My aim is the achieve around 250 miles per week in the last 2 weeks of May and hopefully that should get me on my way.
As well as training I'm working on fund raising and I'm delighted and frankly astonished by some of the early donations on the Just Giving pages. Thank you!
But we're not there yet so please, please, please donate to one of the three charities I am riding for (or all three if you’re feeling particularly generous!). The charities I'm supporting are (click on the name below to take you to that charity's Just Giving page)
Naomi House & Jacksplace Children’s Hospice
Prostate Cancer UK
Breast Cancer Care
I’ve set myself a big target but with everyone's help we can get there.
It would be fantastic if anyone would like to join me for a day or part day at any stage. The dates and route will be here very soon along with my planned stop over locations Watch this space.........
This is a solo unsupported ride but the fund raising effort and logistics would not be possible if not for some great support from people who donate their time and resources to the cause.... Step forward Clive Holland & Mark Tanner of Blunt Print for my printing, Sally Gibson of Dawleys marketing & website and Chris Wrate of Wrate Engineering my main sponsor. You lovely people!!!
