Day 6 & 7 McTough

It's been a tough couple of days cycling over the high roads and low roads of Scotland and I've ended up today lost and cycling over 100 miles. Not ideal after cycling 288 miles in the past 5 days. Still the view at Loch Ness was spectacular....

Day 6 cycling from Spean Bridge to Tyndrum 70 miles. Up at 0600 and onwards to Fort William and the Great Glen and the much awaited ride through Glen Coe . It did not disappoint . Magnificent from start to finish and worth the effort. Stopping off at the Commando Memorial.

A perfect day? Sadly the last 10 miles in were spent in torrential rain with thunderbolts of lightning...very very frightening indeed.

Day 7's leg is the 75 mile killer from Tyndrum to Fenwick....as of 8pm I'm still trying to get to Fenwick!

I'll keep you posted...

I finally made it! All my phone, sat nav, wifi went kaput after the mega storm and I spent Sunday cycling blind. Ended up totally lost and eventually had to contact my hosts Jim McCalliog and his lovely wife Debbie to get me to their house. Jim played for Scotland, Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves, Man Utd and of course Southampton picking up an FA Cup winners medal up along the way in 1976 (sorry Kev!) More of this at a later date but I could have stayed for a week listening to Jim’s stories. Limped in very late, tired and hungry but what fantastic hosts. I can't thank them enough.
